FAMILY FUN DAY

There’s a Family Fun Day planned for June 11th. at PWC. There will be some wonderful activities such as face painting, magic, juggling, fish pond, water balloon targets and many more to keep young and old entertained from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. 50th. ANNIVERSARY ASSEMBLY

Hello everyone:

There will be a special 50th. Anniversary Assembly on Tuesday, November 9th., at 7:00 PM at The Prince of Wales Collegiate gymnasium. The keynote speaker will be former student and now Chief Justice Derek Green.

There will also be an audio-visual presentation covering the 50 years of the school’s history.

A reception will follow the assembly.

Sounds like a very interesting evening! See you there.

MR. CYRIL THORNHILL (SKIPPER)

We were saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Cyril Thornhill, affectionately known as “Skipper”, on October 1st., 2010, in his 94th year. Mr. Thornhill worked for over twenty years at PWC in the sixties and seventies and was highly thought of.

Our condolences go out to Mr. Thornhill’s family.

NEW DATE FOR GOLF TOURNAMENT

PRINCE OF WALES COLLEGE/HOLLOWAY SCHOOL MEMORIAL PROJECT

2010 marks the 150^th Anniversary of the establishment of Wesleyan/Methodist/United Church and Presbyterian Education in St. John’s. To celebrate this occasion and to provide permanent markers to that tradition and to two of its most prominent centers of learning, the former Holloway School on Longs Hill and Prince of Wales College, on LeMarchant Rd., it is planned to erect two memorials in their memory.

To fund our share of these Memorials, the PWC/Holloway Memorial Alumni Committee is embarked upon a financial campaign among its former students, the Old Collegians, and our many other supporters. As many as possible are being reached by letter and accompanying brochures, graphically depicting the proposed sites.

Morning Everyone,

There are four more “Collegians” scanned and uploaded to the PWC website. The new editions are 1953-54, 77-78, 84-85 and 08-09.

This makes a total of eighty four yearbooks from the old Methodist College of 1897, to Holloway School, Prince of Wales College, United Collegiate and Prince of Wales Collegiate of 2008-09.

Good Day Folks

The 50th Committee met last night, March 3rd., at PWC and things are starting to shape up.

Don’t forget, you are welcome and encouraged to attend these meetings and lend your valuable input. Will keep you posted when the next meeting is scheduled.

Should have more info on the Golf Tournament shortly, and it will be added to the events page when it becomes available.

This site will be the place where events will be posted and where general registration is possible(please register before you leave the site). It will also be the tool you can use to comment on what you see here and let us know what you or your class have planned for the 50th.
